Nahin Aiso Janama Barambara

1

( refrain ) nahiṅ aiso janama bārambāra kyā
jānu kachu punya pragaṭe mānasā avā tara

(Refrain): Gift of human life is not best owed upon again and again. I know not whether some of my good deeds cropped up in me.

2

baḍhata pala pala ghaṭaṭa china china calata na lāgi
bāra biracha ke jyoṅ pāṅta tūṭe lāge nahiṅ puni dāra

With every moment growing up, the life span reduces. Life, like leaves fallen down once can not be put back.

3

bhavasāgara ati jaur kahiye vīṣama okhi dhāra
sūrata kā nara bāṅdhe beḍā begi utāre pāra

The world, an ocean of nescience, sorrows sufferings and desires takes you to the hell. One can overcome this ocean with a boat of Your Name, O Lord Krsna.

4

sādhu santa te mahantā calata karata pukāra
dāsī mīrā lāla giridhara jīvana dina cāra

All sages, saints, and devotees humbly call Your holy name for Your help! Your maidservant, Mira Bai, calls to You, O my Sweet Giridhara! Please help me cross over this hellish world, as the duration of this world is only four days from childhood to youth to adult and old age.
