Taru Taru Nava Kisalaya Bana

Song 90; Vasanta Lila

1

taru taru naba kiśalaya bana lāgi
kusuma-bhara kata abanata śākhī

Tree after tree bears new shoots and buds. How many branches bend, burdened with hosts of flowers?

2

taṁhi śuka śāriṇī kokila bola
kuñja nikuñja bhramara karu rola

The parrots and cuckoos coo. In forest after forest the black bees buzz.

3

aparūpa śrī-bṛndābana mājha
ṣaḍa ṛtu saṅge basanta ṛtu-rāja

In the midst of wonderful Vrndavana forest stays King Springtime, surrounded by his court of the six seasons.

4

bikaśita kubalaya kamala kadamba
mādhabī mālatī mili taru lamba

The kuvalaya, kamala, and kadamba flowers bloom. The flowering madhavi and malati vines wind their tendrils around the trees.

5

kāṁhā kāṁhā sārasa haṁsa nisāna
kāṁhā kāṁhā dādurī unamata gāna

Here and there swans and sarasa cranes call. Here and there frogs wildly sing.

6

kāṁhā kāṁhā cātaka pi-u pi-u phura
kāṁhā kāṁhā unamata nācaye mayūra

Here and there cataka birds call, "Pi-u! Pi-u!" Here and there peacocks wildly dance.

7

gobinda-dāsa kaha aparūpa bhāti
caudike beḍhala kusumaka pānti

Govinda dasa says: Vrndavana forest has become wonderful and glorious. In the four directions it is filled with flowers.
