O Manaro Lage Na Sakhi Re
( refrain ) o manaro lāge nā sakhī re,
mero śyāma binā manaro lāge nā
Refrain: Radha is telling Her sakhis: My mind is unhappy because Syama is not here.
sunī sunī lāge sāri braja kī nagarī kuñja
galī sunī śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
The whole village of Vraja is empty. Without Syama, the kunjas and lanes are empty.
kaun sunāve mohe mīṭhī mīṭhī bāṁsurī kaun
nacāve mohe śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
Who will play the flute so sweetly? Without Syama here, who will inspire us to dance?
gvāla bāla sab taḍapa rahe hai tṛna nahī
toḍe gauve śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
Without Syama, all the cowherd boys are restless, and the cows are not eating grass.
paniyā bharana jab jāo yamunā pe pana-ghāta
suno lāge śyāma binā mana re lāge nā
I go to Yamuna to take water, but without Syama, the pan- ghata (where the villagers draw their water) is empty.
giridhārī mose ruṭho re sāvariyā caina nā
āve tere darasa śyāma binā mana lāge nā
Perhaps Giridhari is in a sulky mood. If I don't see You for one second, I go mad and restless. Without Syama, My mind is not interested in anything.
